Central West (Brampton)JUDICIAL CENTRE: Brampton What the 2002/2003 Central West law clerk, Andrea Ormiston, has to say about her clerking experience: Central West is a high-volume region, so the law clerks are exposed to a wide variety of legal proceedings. Central West is also the jurisdiction for the Pearson International Airport, so clerks have an opportunity to observe various aspects of immigration and substance importation litigation. The Brampton courthouse provides a particularly rich experience for students interested in criminal law. However, clerks can also expect to gain familiarity with civil procedure by preparing bench memoranda for lengthy civil motions. The law clerks work closely with the judges in this region, and will find that the staff and judges provide a supportive educational environment for their students.
